I know what gifts Kindle lovers will love because I love a Kindle Fire lover and I am a Kindle Paperwhite lover.
I got my book-loving husband a Kindle Fire for Christmas years ago, and the two of them have been joined at the hip ever since. Several years into his obsession, I decided to join him by asking for a Kindle Paperwhite for my birthday. Now the two of us rarely travel anywhere without our Kindles. Over the years, we have added several accessories that enhance our Kindle experience and these items would make excellent Christmas gifts for all Kindle users.

Since there are two types of Kindle products, tablets and e-readers, I split this gift list into two sections. The first section is full of gift ideas for those who own either a tablet or an e-reader and the second section is full of gifts that are specifically for those with a Kindle Fire tablet.
Confession, my husband and I own one of each. Why? Because we like how light the Kindle E-Readers are for reading. A Kindle Fire can get heavy if you are holding it up to read for hours at a time. Plus, the Kindle E-Readers offer a closer to paperback reading experience than you get reading on a Kindle fire.
However, I prefer reading digital magazines and cookbooks on the Kindle Fire since I want to see the illustrations in color. And the Kindle Fire offers all the features of a tablet, plus Alexa and all she has to offer.
So my first gift idea for you is to get your Kindle Lover who loves to read a Kindle Fire if they only have a Kindle E-Reader or a Kindle E-Reader if they only have a Kindle Fire.
Gifts For Those With Either A Kindle Fire Tablet Or A Kindle E-Reader
1. An Amazon Gift Card A Month For A Year
The Christmas I bought my husband his first Kindle Fire (he is on his second one now), I gifted him all my Swagbucks earnings for the entire year that followed in the form of Amazon gift cards to spend on books, apps, and accessories for his Kindle (here is a list of different point programs that offer gift cards to Amazon as a cash out option).
You don’t have to join point programs to give gift cards. You could deposit a certain amount of money into their Amazon account each month for an entire year. They will think of you each time they buy a book.
2. A Case
If the Kindle user on your Christmas gift list didn’t buy their Kindle with a case, it would make a great gift. A good case will save your loved one’s Kindle from wear and tear. Or perhaps their current case is looking a little too well-loved–if so, a new one would be an appreciated gift.
- My husband loves this style for his Kindle HD 10 inch tablet since it is slim and the cover folds out of the way when not in use and protects his device when it is in his work bag.
- However, for my Kindle Fire, I prefer this rugged style of case that doesn’t have a screen cover. It has protected my Kindle screen from cracking due to a fall numerous times when I have fallen asleep while watching nature videos (something I do when I am having trouble staying asleep).
3. A Protective Sleeve
A protective sleeve is another way of protecting your loved ones’ Kindle from spills and drops.
I don’t have a protective sleeve for my Kindle Fire yet, but I did just put this one on my Christmas list. I like that it has a zippered pouch where I can put my Kindle Fire’s charging cord.
I prefer a protective sleeve over a case for my Kindle paperwhite. I have a very basic one, but it is getting pretty well used and so this year, I am going to add this sleeve that has a pocket for the charger and a clip I can use to clip my Kindle to my purse strap or backpack for reading on the go.
4. A Longer Charging Cord
Last year we picked up a 6-foot Kindle charging cord and we really should get another one because we both fight over it.
Why buy 6 feet when you can get a 10-foot cord for the Kindle user on your gift list? This 10-foot cord has good reviews and should allow them to read or watch items where ever they want while charging their Kindle.
5. A Kindle Unlimited Membership
A Kindle Unlimited Membership gives your Kindle lover unlimited access to thousands of titles, both written and audio. The membership also includes access to digital magazines. Depending on your gift budget, you could offer to pay for as many months as you want–canceling the subscription at the end of the gift is as simple as pressing a few buttons. This gift is probably easiest to give to someone who shares an Amazon account with you, such as your spouse or child since you would need access to the account to cancel it.
I tried out Kindle Unlimited a few times during sales, and each time I try it out, it seems to get better and better. It isn’t for every reader, though. My husband tried it and found it hard to navigate. A friend of mine tried it and said she couldn’t find books by authors she wanted to read. Again, it depends on the reader; I personally found plenty to read each time.
6. A Portable Charger
Got a reader who loves to use their Kindle where there isn’t a plug for recharging? Places like the beach, tent camping trips, backpacking, etc. They will be thrilled to receive a portable charger that will allow them to keep their Kindle charged regardless of where they might wander.
Kindles take more power than a phone to recharge so you want to make sure that the portable charger you get them can hold enough power, yet still be small enough to be convenient to pack in their beach bag, camping gear, or backpack.
We have several smaller chargers by Anker. They have lasted for years, which is why I feel confident recommending their 26800 portable charger that is the size of a smartphone, yet contains enough power to charge a Kindle several times.
7. An Upgrade
Have you caught your Kindle lover looking longingly at the newest model of Kindle Fire or the Kindle E-Readers? Perhaps they are desperately clinging to their current Kindle, but you are noticing that they are spending more time stuck using it wherever its battery is charging instead of enjoying it anywhere and everywhere like they once did.
It might be time to surprise them with an upgrade. And if they feel guilty about switching over, make the transition easier for them by reminding them that Amazon offers both a trade-in program and a recycling program for Kindle devices. There is no reason for them to suffer from “wasteful” guilt.
Gifts For Those With A Kindle Fire Tablet
On a Kindle E-Reader, you read, but on a Kindle Fire, you can read, watch, listen, write, check social media, catch up on emails, and so much more. So if your Kindle lover is a Fire owner, you have more gift options than if they own a Kindle E-Reader.
8. A Streaming Subscription
Did you know that you can purchase gift cards for Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Sling TV, Spotify, and more?
Purchase a gift card for a subscription service that best suits your Kindle Fire lover, whether they be a movie lover, a series binger, or a music listener.
If you are on a tight budget, several point reward programs offer gift cards to these services as a cash out option and earning one might be easier than you think. Here is an article I wrote sharing which of these companies I have tried and liked.
9. A Subscription To Audible, Amazon Music Unlimited, or Prime Video Channels
Except for Audible, which offers a gift membership option, this is another gift that would be tough to give to someone who doesn’t live in your household since it would be hard to activate and deactivate the services. But for those whose Kindle lover is a spouse, these Amazon-based streaming subscriptions make great gifts.

10. A Pair Of Headphones or Earbuds
If your Kindle Fire lover likes to do more than just read books on their Kindle, chances are they at least occasionally use headphones with it.
The selection of headphones on the market is endless, as is the price range. I suggest figuring out first if the person on your gift list would prefer headphones or earbuds. Would they prefer wired or wireless? That will help narrow down your choices.
11. A Stand
Take it from a woman who watches videos on her Kindle Fire frequently–a stand for Kindle Fire users is an excellent gift. I recently bought this one and love how it folds up so compact, allowing me to grab it and my Kindle Fire in one hand and take them to wherever I feel like watching some videos.
12. An Amazon Prime Membership
Amazon does offer a gift option for Amazon Prime; you can check it out here. This would be a pretty sweet gift for a Kindle Fire user as it would give them access to Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading, and Amazon First Reads. These benefits will keep them in video content, music, and books all year long, plus they will get to enjoy all the other benefits of Amazon Prime.
13. A Digital Subscription To Their Favorite Paper Or Magazine
Many magazines are now available in Kindle format for your Kindle lover’s enjoyment.
Here is a list of just a few e-magazine subscriptions available
14. A Bluetooth Speaker
My kids bought my husband this Bluetooth speaker for his birthday and he loves it. It allows him to listen to his music while working in his workshop. If your Kindle Fire lover loves to listen to music while working around the house or in their workshop, a Bluetooth speaker will become a much-loved gift.
I hope this list helps you come up with a gift your Kindle lover will love!
