This week I am starting in decluttering our small walk-in closet.

I decided to start with this lower rack of clothes. Those are my husband’s clothes hanging above, and I will let him do his own sorting.
I decided the best way to attack it was to pile every item up on my bed and go through them from there.
In the end, these are how many hangers I emptied. The contents of these hangers filled up the donation box from the previous week.
I wish I had kept better track of how many banana boxes of stuff I have donated to our local thrift store since the beginning of this project, oh well, my type A ” got to chart it “personality will just have to be happy with seeing the empty spaces around our home.

I did something similar a few days ago with my daughters clothes. I pulled out all the shirts from their closet and was able to get rid of about 10 shirts. Most of theirs were stained up play shirts that need to be tossed. There was a few things I added to the Once Upon a Child pile to sell.
I have also been sorting hand-me-downs as soon as we get them from church. Now that my girls are older (8 and 10 ) they help sort them. The ones they like that are too big we keep and any that they don’t like we immediately pass them on to someone else.
