There is a rose bush that climbs up the corner of my front porch.
When we first bought the home in late summer we considered ripping it out.
Why? Because it was ugly. It was tall and straggly, and seem to have no real purpose, except to poke people passing by the corner of the porch with its thorns.
I am so glad we didn’t tear it out. Almost a year later spring arrived, and that tall and straggly and seemingly useless plant became something beautiful.
Which lead me to thinking, don’t we all have days where we feel like the rose bush in late summer. Days where we are lacking purpose and poking others with our thorns.
In those days remember the rose bush, because spring is coming soon and you will once again feel purposeful and beautiful.
