I just wanted to cross the parking lot and eat at one of my favorite restaurants but this huge puddle was blocking my way. “Strange” I thought to myself “it has not rained for days, where is all this water coming from”. I followed the water for a while hoping to find a way around it when I heard it, the gushing of a fire hydrant.
I walked towards the sound and sure enough there it was a fire hydrant in an alley beside a walled in dumpster, with water spouting 2 feet high from it. It had been going long enough that it had created a ankle deep puddle a block long.
As I stared at it a voice in my head said “look at the impact of just one everyday element stuffed beside a dumpster”.
That event happened weeks ago yet I can’t get it out of my mind. God has use it to remind me of the power of our voice.
The Power Of Our Voice
1. We don’t have to come from the best of circumstances to have a voice that makes an impact.
2. We have a choice whether to use our voice to build or to tear down.
3. Our voice carries farther than we think it does.
It comes down to choice are we going to use our voice to complain or to build? Are we going to use our voice to spout off bitterness about our past or to help heal those struggling with the same hurts? Are we thinking about the impact or our voice, on our spouses , on our children, on our friends, on our extended family, on coworkers, and on strangers? Do we even realize the power of our voice?

Hi Victoria! I am coming from Thriving Thursdays.
I love that thought that our voices carry farther than we think. There have been times when an off-hand remark will gain such speed! We should speak from a heart made by God, not from anger. So true that good things come from a good heart.
I need to remember this post!
Nice to meet you today 🙂
