My kids love having a cup of hot chocolate after playing outside on a cold winter’s day. There is just something about a mug of warm chocolatey goodness that can warm them up from head to toe from the inside out.
Here is our families favorite hot chocolate recipe, that takes just mere minutes and uses just 3 ingredients that you probably already have, milk, sugar and cocoa powder.
Simple pour a cup of milk into a pan and place it on medium heat. Add in the sugar and cocoa powder and whisk the ingredients together. Heat to your preferred temperature.
This recipe makes just 1 serving but you can go ahead and double it or triple it or….whatever you need to serve those in your home.
Top it with mini marshmallows, dip candy cans in it or top it with whipping creme for something just a little more special.
Want another hot drink for a cold day with just a bit of a caffeine kick to it? Try my recipe for peppermint mocha.
- 1 tbsp cocoa
- 1bsp granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- combine ingredients in a sauce pan
- heat over medium heat
- use a whisk to stir as it heats
- when you reach desired temperature remove from heat
- pour into cups and top with marshmallows or whipping creme if desired
- also great with a dash of peppermint extract
