No machine needed peppermint candy ice cream

Peppermint anything is one of my favorite holiday flavors. Ice cream is one of my favorite treats. Put the two together and you have a combination I have trouble staying away from, although with my kids help this temptation didn’t last for long.

ingredients for peppermint candy ice cream

My Peppermint Candy Ice Cream contains just 4 ingredients:

  • sweetened condensed milk
  • Starlight peppermints
  • heavy whipping cream
  • peppermint extract

(I know the picture shows vanilla but I was making several recipes at once and messed up when I snapped the picture it should be a bottle of peppermint extract in the picture, not vanilla, sorry 🙂 )

The recipe is so simple to make my 10 year old can make it all on her own. It also takes just a few minutes to prepare. It does however take an entire day to freeze, so you will have to wait a while to enjoy it.

No machine needed peppermint candy ice cream takes under 5 minutes to prepareI use to make my no machine needed ice-cream recipes in a huge glass measuring cup with a lid, but then I saw a picture in a magazine of a similar recipe and they had used a  rectangular pyrex container with a lid . I tried it this time and I love it! much easier to scoop.

OOOO this sounds so good. I pinned it! Thanks so much for linking up at Weekend Potluck. I’m not real fond of ice cream, but this time of year, this kind of treat is something I crave!

Yes the base of whipping creme and sweeten condensed milk works well with almost any add ins I have tried. I have made chocolate by adding chocolate syrup, nerds by adding in nerds candies. I once made a strawberry one from strawberries I had whirled up in the blender first and it was amazing! I have those ideas listed in my recipe area https://snailpacetransformations.com/recipes/ scroll down until you see the ice cream section. Hope this helps.

This sounds so yummy! I think I will add in some chunks of chocolate to make it similar to my favorite Christmas ice cream.
