If you join along with Snail Pace Transformations on Facebook then you might recognize the quote below. I shared it the other day on Facebook because I loved how it went along with my goals here at Snail Pace Transformations, to encourage you to reach your goals at a pace that you can endure rather than try to live out the all or nothing pace we often try to aspire to but get nothing but burn out from. Why? because little steps lead to big things.

It is a quote by the belated college basketball coach John Wooden. The quote was going through my head all day to the point that I had to do some research on him, and I found another quote that reinforced the first
Often women think, I don’t have ……….so why bother. I don’t have time. I don’t have money. I don’t have the skill.
I don’t have time to exercise for an hour each day 5 times a week so why bother. I don’t have time to declutter my home from top to bottom over the course of a weekend so why bother.
I don’t have the money to start my own business, so why try. I don’t have the money to pay off that debt in full this month, so why bother.
I can’t write like, so and so so why bother to write at all. I can’t cook like so and so, so why bother to try to cook at all.
Sure perhaps you don’t have ALL the time, ALL the money, or ALL the skill right now, but you don’t need it. What you need is the courage to push through all those excuses masking your fear of failure and just start.
True few of us can declutter a whole home top to bottom in a weekend, but I bet you could find 30 minutes each and every weekend to attack one area, a draw, a cabinet, a bookshelf. Over time those little 30 minute sessions will add up and by the end of a few months of dedicated work you will start to see huge improvements in the organization of your home.
Perhaps you really can’t exercise 1 hour 5 days a week, but that is no excuse to not get out there at least once or twice a week for 30 minutes and enjoy the health benefits even a little exercise can provide you.
You might not have all the money you need to start your business right now but you do have access to free resources on the web and your local library to research it further. You might not be able to pay your credit bill in full, but I bet you can squeeze one more week out of the food in your cupboards and use the money you save to make a dent in the balance.
No you don’t write like so and so, but I tell you what God did not make you so and so’s clone He made you, you for a reason, unique for His glory. He wants you to write like you, using all the skill you posses right now this day, and when you obey Him chances are He will provide you the light you need to improve.
You might not be a gourmet cook like your neighbor, but perhaps that shouldn’t be your goal, perhaps your goal should be to provide simple healthy meals for your family on a regular basis.
Stop letting the big picture overwhelm and defeat you and instead break it down into little manageable steps that you can have success with.
Stop spending time and effort on things that are not your God given talents and start concentrating on growing the talents He has blessed you with.

Glad this helped. I have been decluttering to podcasts lately. One short podcast a day 5 days a week and slowly but surely my clutter piles are shrinking and my mind is growing in knowledge as I clean.
