I was really down the other day. Upset with what I considered no progress, no potential, no talent, but then God started speaking to my heart. First through His word, then through a fellow blogger and then through a tree.
My pastor had talked about tree seeds just the other Sunday. How annoying they are when they fall off the mature tree by the thousands, and how isn’t it great that not all of them grow into mature trees because if they did they wouldn’t have room to grow strong?
Staring at this tree it occurred to me, we are all throwing out seeds, with each idea, each word, each glance. Yes, thousands of them do amount to nothing, or do they? Perhaps those thousands of seeds, create fertile ground for the one seed (our purpose).
We have to throw those thousands upon thousands of thoughts and dreams (seeds) out there before we have laid down the nutrients to grow the one.
When that seed grows, its not fast, its slow. It reminds me of the shirts sold in my hometown “40 isn’t old for a tree”. How many dreams are we aborting before they even get a chance to live? Why? Because we figure they have taken too long and not shown enough results already.
It takes a life time to build a passion. God knows our outcomes. He knows the tree He is planting. We just have to hang on and trust Him.
Keep throwing out our seeds. Keep nurturing our seeds.
