I was on a run the other day, wearing one of my favorite Bondi bands, with the words “keep running” written on it.

I have been really struggling with discouragement lately. It just seems like I have hit a ceiling in a few areas of growth in my life and am not growing even though I am trying hard.
I hit my grove about mile 3 or 4 and got into that quiet frame of mind where God starts speaking to me. No it isn’t an audible voice, just a whisper, or perhaps I could best describe it as a thought that I would never speak to myself.
That day it said “just keep”. Just keep trying. Just keep loving. Just keep giving. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and one day you will see that it is paying off.
You might not see the payment for your hard work today, or tomorrow, or next week, or even next year. Perhaps you won’t even see your hard work blossom in your days here on earth, but it will blossom. In fact, it might be blossoming already but you can’t see it.
You don’t know how much that kind word effected that stranger. You don’t know how much that $20 helped the man whose hand’s you slipped it into. You don’t know what your children will do one day because of your persistent love, your persistent encouragement, your modeling, or your hours and hours of praying on your knees for them.
Just keep…loving, hoping, giving, trying; just keep on being the person God created you to be.
Just keep. Keep it up even when you are down and you want to quit. Keep at it when everyone says you are crazy and will never succeed. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and know you are making a difference, you are making progress even when it doesn’t feel like it.
