Here are a few tips that will change your clearance rack find into a steal of a deal.
1. Collect Coupons for Even Deeper Discounts
Target has often has coupons for clothing in their online coupon center that can be combined with clearance clothes.
I have also seen coupons online at coupons.com and in the paper for brands such as Fruit of the Loom and Hanes.
If you read magazines, make sure to check them for coupon inserts for stores such as Children’s Place, Gymboree, Crazy Eight, Land’s End and Coldwater Creek (these are just the ones I found in the free magazines I read)
2. Sign Up for Store Emails to Get More Coupons
Check out the websites of all your favorite stores and see if they have e-mail lists. Often their e-mails will contain discount codes to be used for online shopping and printable coupons to be used in store some even send out birthday discounts.
A few of my favorites are Children’s Place, Aeropostle, Old Navy and New York And Company.
3. Don’t Forget to Check the Bottom of Your Receipt
Often at the bottom of clothing store receipts there will be a small survey that will take under 5 minutes to do and provide you with a code for the cashier to enter on your next visit for a percentage off your total purchase.
4. Buy Discount Gift Cards for your Favorite Stores
I find discounted gift cards for Aeropostle all the time at gift cards sites such as Cardpool that I purchase for 10 to 15 percent off and use to buy clearance rack finds for my boys.
Just make sure to buy only cards for stores that you use all the time. You don’t want a bundle of cash held up in gift cards for long periods of time.
5. If you are shopping on line clearance look for a discount codes
I have saved as much as $24 in two minutes by taking the time to either search Retail Me Not, or enter discount code for ….. into my Swagbucks search bar for a list of sites that list a discount for that particular store.
6. Cash in Your Swagbucks points for Clothing Store E-Cards
Swagbucks offers a large selection of e-gift cards for stores such as Land’s End, Old Navy and Gap for various point values. If you want to spend the points in store you can print out the e-cards.
Other point earning sites also offer gift cards for various retailers making your discount found item cost just those moments it took you to earn the cards.
Bonus Tip For Online Clearance Shoppers
If you are going to be shopping online don’t forget to check Swagbucks “Shop&Earn” section found under the “Earn” heading so that you can earn Swagbucks as you shop.
