These chocolate chip cookie s’mores are not my invention. They are something my daughter discovered on some YouTube video she was watching.
That video made such an impression on her that the moment she discovered I had brought along both the makings for s’mores and some frozen chocolate chip cookie dough on our camping trip she insisted on making them–and, well, chocolate chip cookie s’mores sounded like a pretty good idea to me too so I said, “Go for it!”

These are pretty simple to make! All you need is:
- Chocolate Chip Cookie dough (we used homemade that I had frozen)
- A cookie sheet with a slight edge like this one (a 9×12 pan would also work in a pinch)
- Hershey’s chocolate bars
- Marshmallows
- Marshmallow roasting sticks
First you want to go ahead and bake your cookie dough using this method so that it bakes up like a thin cookie bar.
Essentially you just plop the dough in the middle of the pan and press it, or roll it until it takes up the entire pan and is fairly even in depth through out. After that put it in the oven and cook it at the same temperature as the cookie recipe calls for until it is golden brown around the edges.
Once the cookies are completely cool go ahead and cut them into pieces roughly the size of a graham cracker.
I like getting my crackers-err cookies–ready to go before I start roasting my marshmallows. I simple place them on a plate and put the chocolate on top–and yes, we have two pieces of chocolate in our s’mores. You can never have too much chocolate!
Confession time–I can never get my kids to simply sit around the campfire and just enjoy it. Unless they are roasting marshmallows or roasting hot dogs, they want nothing to do with the campfire.
I think it is sad! I love a roaring campfire; there is something so peaceful about it.
Anyways, I am talking about chocolate chip cookie s’mores here! The point is roasting the marshmallows is the next step.
Now all that is left to do is to stack the marshmallow between the two cookies and chocolate and enjoy the yummy goodness!
These chocolate chip cookie s’mores were so BIG my teenagers could barely get their mouths around them.
These were so amazing it was hard to go back to regular s’mores the rest of the trip. I am not sure we could top them. Although I did hear my daughter say something about a chocolate chip brownie s’mores.
