I was struggling with an issue of the heart one morning, alone out on my front porch wrestling with myself. I was trying to be quiet enough to hear God answer the murmurings of my heart “What is wise?” “What is right?” “What do I do?”.
Then I saw the rose bud with its green leaves closed tight. “Victoria is the rosebud pretty?” “No…no its not but it will be when it opens up”.
Which was the answer to my question; to the stirring of my heart.
You see is this situation I was living close-fisted. I was scared of what others might think if I opened my hands and let a thought, a dream, a life direction, take bloom.
In my fear I had almost made a decision that would have killed the beauty found in the opening buds of another pathway.
I would have never gotten to see the beauty of those petals take bloom. Never smelt the alluring fragrance. Never touched it’s soft tender petals.
Just as a rosebud is meant to bloom and share its beauty so are we meant to live life with hands wide open lavishing our gifts on others.
Your gift is bloom worthy. Your gift is beautiful. Your gift is marked with the fragrance of the King. Your gift is unique. Never let what others might think of it make you close up the petals of your gift.
