ALDI is our family’s favorite low-cost grocery store, and I have found a way to make it, even more, cost effective.
This is one way that I think some ALDI customers are overlooking and it could add up to several dollars saved each week.
One Way To Save Money At ALDI That Is Often Overlooked
(Links in this post are affiliate links. I will be compensated when you make a purchase by clicking those links. See my disclosure page for more information)
ALDI shoppers know that ALDI doesn’t take manufacturer’s coupons, but some ALDI shoppers are missing out on a way to use a different type of coupons at ALDI.
Did you know that you can use coupon apps to claim rebates on products you buy at ALDI? These coupon apps allow you to bank your rebates until they hit certain cash out totals at which you can then get your money either in the form of a rebate check or a gift card.
Coupon Apps That Can Help You Save Money At ALDI
CoinOut
CoinOut earns you cash back with almost any receipt/purchase. You can choose from three cash out options (PayPal, Bank Deposit, or Amazon), and two of them have zero minimum earning amounts. There is a daily limit on how many receipts you can upload in a day but the receipts can be a few days old before you upload them–which is a nice feature for us forgetful folks.
Go here to sign-up for CoinOut and then download the app
Fetch Rewards
It is super simple to earn points using FetchRewards, just shop wherever you shop for groceries and when you are done, upload your receipt to FetchRewards. Within 24 hours (sometimes longer) you will receive points for your receipt. What you earn depends on what you bought and what their current offers are.
Go here to sign-up for Fetch Rewards: Use my referral code RE9FU at sign-up and receive bonus points when you complete your first receipt.
Receipt Hog
This app is so simple to use. Upload a receipt by taking a picture of it with your smartphone and watch your points and spins add up in Receipt Hog. There are lots of stores that qualify. And it works at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, clothing stores and more.
Go here to sign-up for Receipt Hog Use the code YECT1667 during sign-up to earn free spins.
ShopKick
ShopKick offers scan points at ALDI, not many but it is worth looking to see if there are any each time you shop and shopkick offers so many other ways to earn points you can trade in for gift cards. Here is a tutorial I wrote about the ShopKick app.
Go here to sign-up for Shopkick for iPhone
Go here to sign-up for Shopkick for Android
Makeena
Makeena is an app I am just starting to explore. It offers rebates on organic foods including many “any brand” offers that include items like milk, eggs, and various organic vegetables if you buy organics at ALDI definitely download and use the Makeena app.
Go here to sign-up for Makeena and use my referral code TWNAVD during sign up to earn 1000 points (equals $1) once you upload your first receipt.
Swagbucks
The Swagbucks Answer app has recently started giving users 2 SB points for every grocery store and convenience store receipt you upload. One SB point is essentially worth a penny so getting 2 cents per receipt might not seem like much but Swagbucks has over 20 ways to earn points and many of them are super simple. If you were to combine this way of earning SB points with a few others you should be able to earn a gift card or two a month through Swagbucks –and their selection of gift cards to choose from is huge.
Go here to sign-up for Swagbucks and then download the Swagbucks answer app
Do you use these coupon apps to save money at ALDI? Do you know of others that you can use at ALDI?

I love Aldi, and I love Checkout 51 and Receipt Hog! I haven’t used Snap yet – I’ll check it out. Thanks for the great info!
Victoria says
Snap is a bit hit and miss as to what they offer that will work for Aldi but it is still definitely worth checking out as they often will have a cash back for bread, or for a certain type of vegetable or fruit that will work with no problems at Aldi, just not as frequently as Checkout 51 does.
Janice says
Can one scan their grocery receipts on a scanner? I don’t have an I phoone.
Victoria says
I know a tablet or iPod touch would work, but I don’t think a scanner would work.
Leanne | The Transplanted Southerner says
I didn’t know those existed, but I will look into them now. Thanks for sharing!
Victoria says
Your welcome. I do think these apps are being overlooked sure they don’t earn you much per visit but when used week after week consistently the savings can really start to add up. Receipt Hog especially is so simple to use and fun too!
Amanda Sovago-Royal says
I’ve never shop at Aldie but I’ve always wanted to, my friends have always told me about the great prices and now I have another reason to go! Thanks for the info!
Victoria says
You are welcome and yes you definitely have to give ALDI at try. Our family loves it.
skathy says
I’m disappointed in our store. They rarely have what was advertised on first day and won’t be getting for the ad sale. It has happened numerous times. They have no phone to call and check . It is a 40 mi;e round trip so unless I am in area I don’t shop it.
Victoria says
That is disappointing. Our local ALDI often seems to get the items in before I even see them in the ad, so I guess it must depend on the store.
Michelle says
These are great suggestions thank you! Have you used Ibotta? Sounds similar although I’m still learning how to use it. Any idea how they compare?
Victoria says
Yes I use ibotta. However ibotta can’t be used at Aldi as ibotta is store specific and at least last time I checked Aldi wasn’t offered as a store to submit receipts from. The apps in this list are similar in nature but not store specific meaning you can submit receipts from any store.
Allis says
the referral code in the body of your post for receipt hog is incorrect.
Victoria says
Allis I double checked it and it is correct perhaps the site was down or something when you tried it YECT1667 is my referral code for Receipt Hog and when you use it you start your account with 5 spins.
Jamie @ Medium Sized Family says
I used to use Checkout 51, but I had kind of forgotten about it. And I will have to look into the others. My only problem is that my receipt is super long each time and it takes me a while to scan it into my computer. (I don’t have a smartphone…this is one reason I am considering getting one, though!)
Victoria says
Does anyone in the house have an iPod touch? the apps work on those as well and it might be easier than scanning it to a computer.
Renee says
Hey! I love Aldi!! We do most of our shopping there. Haha in fact I wrote a ridiculously long post once on how much I like Aldi. http://tunemyheartblog.com/2015/05/17/things-i-like-about-aldi/
Anyway, I use ibotta and checkout 51, but since they don’t have Aldi as a store, these sound like they’ll work better 🙂 Thanks for the tip. I tried your referral code and it said it was invalid? 🙁
Victoria says
Hmmm…someone else told me the code was invalid too but I am still getting sign ups so I know it is valid. I wonder if it has to be entered in all caps or perhaps all without caps.
Victoria says
Whoops just double checked the code was indeed written wrong my sign ups must becoming from another post where I talked about Receipt Hog the code is YECT1667 I fixed it in post! Thanks for pointing it out.
Renee says
oh good, so glad!!
Kristy M says
Ibotta is another nice rebate app that’s has any brand rebates. However if you only shop at Aldi the any rand rebates would be the only rebates you could use. Ibotta doesn’t have Aldi as a store in the list of stores available.
Wd says
I love Aldi for so many reasons. Quality first because low cost means nothing if the product or food is not good and they have a return policy so you don’t like it take it back. Next is selection. There is something for everyone. They usually have themes around holidays and seasons like healthy around New Years, Mexican, Italian, Sundaes, cookout, pets, dorm, organization, cooking, etc and lots of cultural foods and treats. During Holidays party decor, food and treat trays. You can have a classy party and no one will know where you shopped or how much you saved. And they lower prices on food and items when they want to get rid if things to put more out. Recently I wanted a meatloaf pan that drains the fat and I waited and they marked it way down 2 weeks later and I got it. Now I want to try these receipt sites too and save more.
Victoria says
I hope you enjoy the receipt Apps and much as I do. Oh and I love Aldi for all the same reasons as you. Especially their special purchases, a lot of the items in our home come from Aldi, like the space heater for our sons room, my two now HUGE house plants in the large window in the dining room, a lot of our kitchen accessories and much more.
Kathy says
Thanks for posting this! Receipt Hog is new to me so I just signed up with your referral code. I’ve already got over 200 coins in 5 minutes and submitted my first receipt. Looking forward to adding this one to my savings Arsenal. One of my favorite rebate apps is Find and Save.
Victoria says
You are welcome. I will have to try out Find & Save. I have not heard of it before.
Judi says
Most of the items on the checkout 51 app are name brand from what I’ve noticed. Not very helpful if you shop at aldi. Is there something I’m missing here?
Victoria says
They usually have 1 to 3 offers that are not name brand. For milk, eggs or vegetables.
Kathy says
I have been using Checkout51, but will have to check out Receipt Hog! I had not heard of that one before. The one that I use even more that Checkout51, is called MobiSave. It is similar to Checkout51, but I seem to find more rebates that are on produce and non-name brand specific that Checkout51 offers!
Victoria says
Thanks for the tip! I downloaded MobiSave and am looking into how it works.
Betty says
Thank you for the savings advice
Victoria says
You are welcome.
Chrissie says
Another website that gives you cash back for Aldi is Find and Save. They give you a percentage back of your bill. I just got 2% back on my bill that was over $25. I ended spending about $100 this past week so getting 2% back from that is pretty nice!
Victoria says
I downloaded Find & Save a while back and have been meaning to try it out. This news is going to help me make it a priority now!
Clarissa says
Our nearest Aldi is an hour away but making the trip is definitely worth it as long as I stock up instead of buying one or two items. I love the store!
Victoria says
Me too! And yes depending on what your local town offers driving an hour to ALDI can be worth it if you stock up. You could make the cost of gas up and more their prices are so low in comparison to most stores.
Innana says
Wow. I had absolutely no idea there were other ways to make money simply by shopping. I already spend a lot on groceries and Aldi is normally my store of choice. Might as well get paid for it! thanks for sharing! love your blog, check mine out when you have a chance 🙂
Kathy says
Can you use 1 receipt with multiple apps?
Victoria says
Great question. Yes you can.
Sarah says
How can I find my referral code for Receipt Hog?
Victoria says
I looked around the app and website for you and I can no longer see it offered anywhere. I know my referral code is still working although I get less spins from it than I use to. Sorry I couldn’t help you.
Laura says
Hello, I just downloaded the Receipt Hog app, but it actually put me on a Wait List…I will supposedly receive an email in 30 days if I can become a member. 🙁 Guess I’ll wait and see.
Victoria says
Hmm…Never heard of this before. Very strange! Perhaps they are updating something in the app?
Claudine says
I was waitlisted for Receipt Hog also. The message said that they have too many members and you now have to be invited.
Victoria says
Thanks for letting my readers know. Hopefully they open it up again soon.
Asen says
What happened to YAARLO[tm]?
Also Aldi receipts are now accepted in Ibotta.
Victoria says
I am not sure what is happening with YAARLO. It stopped working for me a few weeks ago. I haven’t taken them off the post yet hoping that it was just a glitch they were dealing with and they would soon be back up and running.
