Plain Granola

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup olive oil can use another oil if you wish
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 10 cups oats I use quick oats
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Combine brown sugar, olive oil and honey in a saucepan and place on medium heat. Stir frequently until blended well. Then remove from heat
  2. Combine rest of ingredients in large mixing bowl.
  3. Put liquid mixture on top of dry mixture and stir with large wooden spoon.
  4. Pour mixture out onto two cookie sheets and spread evenly
  5. Place in a preheated oven at 375 degrees
  6. Bake for 10 minutes at the 5 minute mark stir the granola especially around edges to avoid burning and rotate cookie sheets if needed (my oven does not bake evenly so I always rotate)
  7. When 10 minutes is up take granola out. Edges should be golden brown.
  8. Let cool.
  9. As it cools break it up with a spoon once and a while to avoid clumps (unless you like clumps then leave it alone)
  10. When it is 100% cooled place in airtight container. It should keep several weeks.
