Oatmeal Breakfast Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cup apple sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups white wheat flour
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup dried cranberries or raisins

Instructions
 

  • preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • mix together applesauce and butter in a large mixing bowl ( I used my hand mixer)
  • stir in sugar
  • stir in lightly beaten egg
  • stir in the remaining ingredients.
  • press in a lightly greased 9 by 12 pan
  • bake for 15 to 20 minutes (lightly golden brown around edges)
  • allow it to cool and then use your pizza cutter to cut into 20 to 24 bars.
