We have had a extremely dry summer. So dry that our grass became like straw. For months we did not mow it because it simply was not growing.
Then finally just these last few weeks we have had a few heavy and lengthy rainfalls, and one morning while I was sitting out on our front porch soaking up a few quiet moments, it struck me, the grass was green.
It wasn’t a patchy green, or a so so green, it was a rich lush green. Within a few more days it had grown so much it needed mowing.
The revival of the grass reminded me of the life of own spirits, we can get let them get so dry that our spiritual growth becomes stunted. However, if we spend just a few moments soaking up the living water, we can soon start growing again. Within a few good soakings of the word, we are revived and begin to thrive.
Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” John4:10 NLT
