10 Goals For 2015

My Mind

1. Read 52 books this year. 

Up to 37 books so far which means I am ahead in my reading goal right now.  My favorite for the month would be Nobody’s Cuter Than You. I really just started it but I am already in love with it. I love all of Melanie Shankle’s  books including Sparkly Green Earrings and The Antelope In The Living Room. They are great for lifting the spirits with good old fashioned belly laughing humor.

My Health

I had a few health problems pop up last year, that left me thinking I have reached that age where I should be paying more attention to it so I set two goals for my fitness and one goal  for eating habits.

2. 1200 Miles Ran in 2015

I am so happy to report that I am caught up again in this goal and I actually am going to finish August a few miles ahead!

3. Take an overnight, multi-day bike ride trip with my son

This goal got downsized to a 4 hour bike ride that ended in lunch…then my eldest son came and picked my middle son and I up. The reason for this was mainly the rainy spring and summer that Indiana has had this year. My son and I were not able to get many bike rides in before his soccer season started and now that soccer is in full swing the chances of time to bike are slim.

Still we enjoyed our ride and hope to fit a a longer trip in next year.

4. Take six small steps over the year to build better eating habits

I have entirely changed my eating habit these last few weeks in a last ditch attempt to get rid of a health problem that has plagued me for over a year now. I started researching in depth changes in diet that are suppose to help this particular problem. I did not expect a weight loss from these  changes BUT I lost 5 pounds in two weeks.

I don’t know if I will keep it off but I am very happy about the weight loss and plan to keep up these new eating habits although so far it isn’t helping my problems yet.

My Marriage

These goals are ones I set and achieved  in 2014 and I liked how they strengthened my marriage so much that I am doing them again.

5. 1 real date a month with my hubby each and every month:  Our date day in August included breakfast at Panera (using a gift card earned through My Points), a tour around a few small towns in the area we have wanted to check out for a while, a look at a few RV’s, lunch at McAlister’s , car test driving (we plan to get a new to us vehicle in spring but we are not sure what yet) and lots of talking along the way.

6. 1 weekend getaway per season just the 2 of us. : We spent an entire week in Jamaica just the two of us in honor of our 20th wedding anniversary in June . It was amazing! If you follow me on instagram you probably saw all the pictures. We are considering this our spring and summer getaway so we won’t go away for the weekend again until fall.

My Home

52 Weeks To A Simplified Home Decluttering A Home One Inch At A Time (med)

7. Declutter one area of my home each and every week of the year.

Trudging though this goal and am still on the Master Bedroom! I think by the end of September I will finally be done with it thought.

8. Write a 30,000 word ebook.

I put this goal aside for now to work on  a free eBook for email subscribers. I am about 2/3rds of the way through writing it. Stay posted for more details. {did not get further on the free e-book this month}

My Spirit

9. Do a word study in the bible  of the words, discipline, diligence and self control.

DONE all three words. I am now spending time reading the bible starting from the beginning each and every day.

My Wow Goal

10. I like keeping my wow goal very private as it is so dear to my heart. It is just as big as last year if not bigger.

My husband and I decided to take a big step towards making this goal happen. It is going to take a lot of work to see if our investment will pay off but I think it will.
