10 Goals For 2015
1. Read 52 books this year.
Up to 54 books so far which means I surpassed my goal! Well, okay not by much but some. I actually finished 3 books in the last 24 hours and still need to add them to my list of books read for 2015. I am also currently working on one more so I might make the total 55 by the time the year is done.
I had a few health problems pop up last year, that left me thinking I have reached that age where I should be paying more attention to it so I set two goals for my fitness and one goal for eating habits.
2. 1200 Miles Ran in 2015
Sadly by mid December I had to admit that my plantar fasciitis was getting worse and running & walking was only aggravating it further. I have been fighting it since late August.
I am not giving up all together on this goal though. After experimenting with different cross training options I found that the stationary bike and the rowing machine don’t bug my foot at all. So altered the goal (it is my goal so I can do that). I count 11 minutes of biking or rowing as one running mile. I currently have under 20 miles left to reach the 1200 mile total for 2015 . I feel like I should be able to complete that!
3. Take an overnight, multi-day bike ride trip with my son
This goal got downsized to a 4 hour bike ride that ended in lunch (you can read why here). Still we enjoyed our ride and hope to fit a a longer trip in next year.
4. Take six small steps over the year to build better eating habits
With Christmas just behind me I feel like I bombed this goal! I have made some significant changes in my diet over the past few months due to health issues BUT over the holidays they have gone straight out the window.
I am hoping the return to normal routine next week will help me return to my better eating habits. I am also hoping the one sweet treat goal for 2016 will help me practice moderation.
These goals are ones I set and achieved in 2014 and I liked how they strengthened my marriage so much that I am doing them again.
5. 1 real date a month with my hubby each and every month: (psst….these have changed to date days)
December date day was Christmas shopping together followed by strolling through a gingerbread display.
6. 1 weekend getaway per season just the 2 of us. : We did not do our fall weekend getaways for 2015 due to several emergency fund draining incidents, plus we are currently renovating another home into a rental. Once the home is rented we plan on taking the first month rent and going away for a long weekend just the 2 of us. It will be a nice reward for a project well done.
7. Declutter one area of my home each and every week of the year.
I DID IT! I am so proud of myself for sticking to my decluttering goal for all of 2015!
I am enjoying the outcome so much that I created another decluttering challenge for myself & my readers for 2016.
8. Write a 30,000 word ebook.
I locked myself up in a hotel room for 6 nights with the intent of finishing my eBook. I got very close but once I got home the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season took over and I wasn’t able to finish.
9. Do a word study in the bible of the words, discipline, diligence and self control.

10. I like keeping my wow goal very private as it is so dear to my heart. It is just as big as last year if not bigger.
