Firefly Island by Lisa Wingate is a mixture of romance, comedy and mystery.
I couldn’t help but reflect on my own first years of marriage as I read about the first months of the marriage between the main character Mallory and her new husband Daniel.
Those first years, so awkward , so drama filled; yet such a thrilling time filled with all sorts of new beginnings.
Mallory and Daniel especially have their share of new beginnings as they embark on an adventure many states away from their family. From city life to rural life. From apartment dwelling to living to rural living complete with rodents. Along with all their new beginnings they find themselves knee high in a mystery whose outcome could effect every aspect of the life they are building for themselves.
Firefly Island kept me up long past my bed time one night as I was anxious for the unraveling of the mystery within it’s pages. It also had me laughing so hard one day as I read it on the stationary bike at the gym that other gym members were trying to peek at the cover to see what I was reading.
I was given a copy of this book for the purpose of review but the opinions are all mine.
