This week I finally got a project done that I have been working on since late January.
Well really it is almost done, I just have to finish the ends. I was panicking during the last few rows wondering if I would have enough material to finish it. The small pile of strips laying beside my latest locker hooked table runner is all I had left.
I can’t wait to trim up the ends and get it on my table. After several years of locker hooking I am finally going to keep a piece to use in my own home.
This is my next project. The blanket is a small lap blanket that use to be found on my mothers couch during her final few years. I treasure it, keeping it in a basket at the end of my bed, to curl up under when doing some Sunday reading.
I love the size and texture of it so much that I am going to try and recreate it (no pattern). My friend has a daughter getting married in June and she loves my hand made creations so if all turns out well my recreation will be part of her wedding gift. I think the Kindle Fire I got my husband for Christmas has been the most used present ever. He has it with him always. He reads books on it continuously. If he isn’t reading on it, he is watching Netflix on it.
Yes that is a shoe you see beside him on the couch. Yes that is a pile of folded and yet to put away laundry in the corner there. I have been so busy with Money Saving Mom’s deep cleaning daily assignments other day to day cleaning is getting behind.
We have never taken my daughter to any event that I can think of that was formal enough to have name plates at the table, yet she decided to bless our dinner table with her handmade ones last night.
So sweet, I am trying to gobble these childhood moments up. My first is 16 already, it goes so fast.
Speaking of memories, with the power of Google at my finger tips I was able to create my first hair bun ever.
My daughter loved it as she wanted to feel like Cinderella for a friends theme party. She was so excited to wear the dress she got from her Disney World makeover, again.
Another first for me. I took my net book and a empty note book to Starbucks and spent the morning brainstorming and mind webbing and even a bit of rough drafting out my first e-book . I hope to have it done in time for the New Year Resolution crowd.
How about you? What did you get up to this week?
