Wednesdays last year on Snail Pace Transformations were all about getting rid of the clutter in my home.
As 2015 came to an end I begin to think about what might replace my Wednesday clutter posts since the decluttering challenge for this year was going to be a monthly challenge and therefore needed just one monthly update (which will be on the last Monday of the month if you were wondering).
At first I thought perhaps I would do a new mini series each month, but not only would that be too time consuming for the hours that I can devote to the blog, it wouldn’t help me with one of my major desires for the blog either–the desire I have to build relationships with my readers.
So I began to think about the style of posts that I read that help me get to know the blogger behind the blog better.
I love reading photo heavy posts like Kirsten’s Tuesdays= a photo and a few words posts (found over at The Frugal Girl) and Crystal’s 5 Things I am Loving This Week posts (found over at The Money Saving Mom)
These types of posts–the picture heavy, word light posts and the link heavy, word light posts–give me a glimpse as to what the blogger and I have in common. They build a feeling of fellowship between the blogger and the blog reader.
Of course, I don’t want to copy their posts, I simply want to reinvent them in a way that is 100% me. This is a little trick I learned from the book Steal Like An Artist, one of my favorite reads of 2015.
So Wednesdays this year are going to be word light and picture, link, or both picture and link heavy, because Wednesdays this year are about fellowship.
Fellowship is of course a two way street so these posts will have questions at the bottom. Commenting is encouraged!
Today’s question: How do you like to get to know the bloggers behind the blogs you read?
