All summer long I love to drink iced coffee and iced tea, but once the weather starts to cool there is just something about holding a hot cup of tea that makes the day cozy.

6 hot teas to enjoy during the cooler temperatures of Fall & Winter

6 Hot Teas For Fall & Winter

My Favorite Caffeinated Teas

Organic Green Tea

I love all the healing properties of organic green tea. I also love that it doesn’t make me as edgy as coffee sometimes does. Here is the brand I buy most often.

Tazo Earl Grey Tea With A Hint Of  Lavender

When I want something with a bit more of a caffeine punch than green tea I love steeping up a hot cup of Tazo’s Earl Grey Tea with a hint of lavender. I like it with just a little bit of stevia, but no milk.

Trader Joe’s Vanilla & Cinnamon Black Tea

For tea with a bit of spice I really like Trader Joe’s Vanilla & Cinnamon Black tea. You can only get it in store during the winter months (at least where we live), but it is available on Amazon year round.

My Favorite Herbal (decaffeinated) Teas

 Organic India Tulsi Tea

I love drinking Tulsi tea as I am winding down from a long day. In fact, I drink it before bed almost every day. I have only tried the Organic India brand of Tulsi tea but there are others.

Peppermint

If my tummy is bugging me, peppermint tea is my tea of choice. I prefer an organic brand because I find it stronger. Of course, if you have a green thumb you could grow your own peppermint and use it to make peppermint tea.

Ginger

If I am feeling at all achy or my muscles are sore from a workout, I grab ginger tea. Like peppermint I find the organic brands to be stronger in flavor, which I like. I have one friend who buys ginger and makes her own tea from it. I am lazy. I prefer buying mine already in tea form.

My preferred on-the-go mug for hot drinks

I prefer to drink my tea at a leisurely pace curled up under a blanket in my own home–but life happens. When I have to take my tea to go I love using porcelain or ceramic travel mugs like this one. I find tea tastes better in these mugs than in stainless steel or plastic ones. My current one is one from Starbucks, but I have tried and liked several other brands–being part of a klutzy family means no mug lasts long in our home.

My preferred at home style of mug

I love thick walled ceramic mugs best. I like a mug  big enough that I can wrap both hands around with ease. I also like pretty mugs. Day Spring sells some very pretty mugs with encouraging words printed on them.

I am a huge fan of hot tea and always looking out for new types to try–share with me your favorites in the comments below!

Organic black tea is my favorite, but I’m starting to enjoy green tea as well!
