Another month and another 3o items gone from my home–actually 36 items!
One Sunday I had a burst of energy to clean (okay-truthfully most of the motivation for the burst came from knowing that people would be delivering this to our home the next day).
In that Sunday afternoon I attacked half of our family room and of our bedroom surfaces.
I put all the items to give away in boxes and placed them in the cubby off our upstairs hallway on top of the box of stuff from January’s and February’s 30 times 12 items. When I counted the items up before doing this post I realized I had tossed 36 items during my cleaning spree.
These boxes will soon be going to a friend who is holding a yard sale to raise money for her son’s mission trip. I love the idea that my clutter will be helping someone reach a pretty awesome financial goal.
Visually seeing these boxes stacked up on top of one another makes me see just how much impact small actions have over time. In 3 months I have filled 2 1/2 boxes worth of stuff –simply by tossing 30 items a month.
Multiply that by the 9 months I have left and that means I could easily send 8 of these boxes out of my house in the course of the 30 times 12 challenge. That is enough stuff to fill the trunk area of my SUV twice!
Small snail pacing steps done over and over really do create a big impact over time.
