Here is how I did in April with my goals for 2016.
(psst….the Ultimate Homemakers Bundle sale mentioned in my goal update is over but if you sign up for my weekly newsletter I will make sure you are well aware of the next one. You can sign up by clicking here.)
Read one business book each month
I listened to most of How To Talk To Anyone: 92 Little Tricks For Big Success in Relationships and do plan to finish it this week. I am gaining a lot of tips on how to start conversations with new people I meet and how to keep those conversations going however, the narrator for the audio book version is a bit more peppy than my personality. There are also some words in this book that have sadly changed meaning since the book was written.
As far as my goal for reading 52 books goes I am currently up to 22 books, however I need to take a moment and write them all down.
Return to cross-training
In January I concentrated just on yoga. In February I added in two days of swimming each week. In March I added in biking. Over the month of April I have been slowly getting back to running. I finally last week made a 3 mile run without stopping–but it took a lot of effort. . My goal is to be able to do this comfortably by the end of the month.
One daily treat only
I did better with this goal than I did in March. I got a bit off track when some warm days hit and the local ice cream parlors were calling my name. However most days–one treat.
1 date day a month with my hubby.
Or date day in April was a trip to Cincinnati . We had a great time wandering Ikea, trying out new foods at Jungle Jim’s market and enjoying the view of St Mary’s lake before crossing back into Indiana.
Get rid of 30 items in my home each and every month.
In June the community where the current home we are renovating to rent is located is having a huge community wide rummage. My family is planning to take part. We also plan to take part in a large second hand homeschooling curriculum sale that month.
Finish an eBook.
Above is a picture of my fingers about to press the button in google drive that sent my eBook to a content editor. One. Step. Closer.
I am still thinking it will be a few months more until it is available in Kindle format on Amazon. This process is both exciting and nerve racking.
My Culinary Creativity
Try one new recipe a month.
Not one new recipe tried in the entire month of April!
As in the past 2 years, my WOW goal is something I am going to share just with a select few. This year’s isn’t blog related but it is still big and going to be a challenge.
Update: This goal has taken on an entirely new direction and this bag pictured above has something to do with that new direction!
(psst…. I gave you another hint to what this is last month-soon I will tell all but plans are still falling into place right now)
My Word For 2016
This. Is. So. Hard!
But every time I get off track I think of the book that inspired the word ONE as my word for 2016 and get back to focusing on my one goals.
