2 months of 2015 are already gone! It seems like every year seems to fly by faster than the last one.
This month I don’t feel like I made a lot of progress on my goals. I blame it on the cold Indiana weather that we have experienced all month long. Freezing temperatures inspire me to wrap up in a blanket with a hot cup of something and dream of warm weather, and that really isn’t in my goal list; perhaps I could add it 🙂 .
10 Goals For 2015
1. Read 52 books this year.
I have currently read 8 books so I am right on target for this goal.
2. 1200 Miles Ran in 2015
I didn’t quite hit 100 miles ran for this month. I ran 84. Indiana weather was against me, for outdoor runs most of February and I can only take so many miles of what I like to call the dreadmill (aka treadmill) . I am not in a panic over making up the miles though as I ran an extra 6 last month so that means I am just 10 miles behind on this goal, which I think I can make up easily once outdoor running weather returns.
3. Take an overnight, multi-day bike ride trip with my son
This goal won’t happen until late spring or early summer, but I am looking forward to it already.
4. Take six small steps over the year to build better eating habits
You can read a detailed post on how I am doing with this goal here. It is hard work but I am making progress.
5. 1 real date a month with my hubby each and every month (meaning an errand can’t be the main focus of our time together)
We went out to our favorite BBQ restaurant using a Groupon one evening.
6. 1 weekend getaway per season just the 2 of us.
We finally managed to do our winter getaway night. We kept it thrifty by using the gift cards that I earned from Black Friday shopping for our meals. We paid for most of the hotel room with Christmas money my husband’s parents sent us.
Except for my accident, we had a great time.
7. Declutter one area of my home each and every week of the year.
It is only because of my readers that I am continuing this goal. I think God is using you to grow discipline in me when it comes to dealing with my clutter mess. Seriously, I am like a whiny baby when it comes to tackling my decluttering area each week and yet when it is done I am always glad I did it.
I am hoping by the end of the year this will become just as natural as working out is for me. I do it because, I know it is worth it in the end.
8. Write a 30,000 word ebook.
After asking a few times on Facebook what topics people would like to see me write about I realized that I already started and abandoned an ebook years ago that lined up exactly with the topic people were asking me to write. I spent one day in a nearby Panera thanks to a Mypoints earned gift card, and reread through the existing ebook.
Thankfully much of what I had written was usable and I have already started reworking areas that were not top notch, and adding more information to those areas that I felt I needed to go deeper in. Right now it is around 23,000 words so I have a good start on this goal.
9. Do a word study in the bible of the words, discipline, diligence and self control.
I just finished the word diligence and am moving on to self control. I won’t make progress on this goal during the month of March though as each and every March I like to “March through the Proverbs” reading one chapter a day all 31 days. I read with a journal in hand, writing down verses that jump out at me. At the end of the month I always feel like I have learned so much and grown closer to the Lord.
My Wow Goal
10. I like keeping my wow goal very private as it is so dear to my heart. It is just as big as last year if not bigger.
This goal is not going well. I just can’t seem to get focused on it. I need a bit of inspiration, just not sure where to find it yet.
