Goal Update For 2015

StumbleUponFacebookShare

It is hard to believe that we are already almost 1/4  of the way through 2015 already!

goals for 2015You can view my goals for 2015 in full here. Here is how I did with my goals for the month of March.

My Mind

1. Read 52 books this year.

I have read 11 books so far which means I am currently a bit behind of my goal of one a week. I am not too worried though since when we go camping in summer time I often read several books in one week.

My Health

Make A Fitness Goal For This YearHow to set and track a yearly milage goal (med)2. 1200 Miles Ran in 2015

I ran 106 miles in January and 83 miles in February to get back on track I needed to run 111 miles in March. So  far I have ran 99 3/4  but there are 2 days left in March and I hope to knock out 6 1/4 today which would leave me just 5 miles behind. I will try and make up those 5 miles in April. (view the whole goal here)

3. Take an overnight, multi-day bike ride trip with my son

No progress on this goal yet but I am thinking in April the temperatures should get nice enough to get in a few training bike rides with my son. In these training rides I should see if the problems that plagued me last year are entirely fixed up or not.

6 habits to form this year for healthier eating creating good eating habits one inch at a time (med)4. Take six small steps over the year to build better eating habits

Who would have thought that remembering to grab just one more thing on the way out the door would be so hard. This March and Aprils goal is to bring water with me every where. I am trying but making this a habit is turning out to be tougher than I thought.

I also slipped up on charting calories for 2 whole weeks, which was the goal from January and February. I am back on track though and charted what I ate several days this week. (view all 6 habits here)

My Marriage

These goals are ones I set and made in 2014 and I liked how they strengthened my marriage so much that I am doing them again.

5. 1 real date a month with my hubby each and every month (no quick bite to eat and an errand).

Can I count a trip out of town  to the nearest Fedex to pick up my new to me refurbished iPhone 5C from Ting count? We did have dinner out there, and he did buy me flowers while we shopped at Aldi together. Okay probably not . So failed on this goal in March.

6. 1 weekend getaway per season just the 2 of us.

We had our winter getaway in February and have an extra special getaway planned for late spring.

My Home

52 Weeks To A Simplified Home Decluttering A Home One Inch At A Time (med)7. Declutter one area of my home each and every week of the year.

I am inching along with this goal here on the blog every Tuesday. The whole family is already feeling the benefits . The house is easier to pick up and it is easier to find things.

My Business

8. Write a 30,000 word ebook.

I am so excited to say that I have written 30,000 words and am now shooting for 35,000 to 40,000.

My Spirit

9. Do a word study in the bible  of the words, discipline, diligence and self control.

I took March off from this so that I could March through the Proverbs and I am so glad I did, I always learn so much when I take time to read through the book of Proverbs.

My Wow Goal

10. I like keeping my wow goal very private as it is so dear to my heart. It is just as big as last year if not bigger.

I am working on this goal but progress is going very slow. I am trying to remain positive though.

Did you set any goals for yourself this year? If so tell me about them in the comments. Also consider joining my Snail Pacing Goal Achievers Facebook group where I will be sharing my goal updates as well as creating and environment that will encourage women to reach their goals one inch at a time.

If you find yourself constantly making goals but never pursuing them or reaching them, I recommend reading 21 Days To A More Disciplined Life. An ebook by Crystal Paine that will help you break down your goals and develop the discipline to reach them.

  1. Wow–you have some awesome goals here! I love your goal of reading 52 books this year. I LOVE reading and a few years ago would easily go through 2-3 books in a week’s time. These days I feel I’ve gotten so busy that haven’t picked up a book in weeks. Makes me sad…I definitely would love to started reading as much I used to!

    • I set the 52 books a year goal several years ago to make sure I was setting a good example for my kids (who I wanted to read a book a week). I have stuck to it for years as I find in makes me make time for reading and I do love reading so!

  2. I did set goals this year and am working towards achieving them. Great to see you too placing emphasis on your marriage. It’s harder for me to have any dates with Hubby as he is working overseas and any meet up needs massive coordination on the childcare part as I would have to fly over to where he is located. 52 books is really a lot of books. I think I’ve only read about 10+ books too so far. Do kids book count? If so then it’s easily 30 so far 🙂

    • Wow! Yes having a hubby overseas would make dates next to impossible. Oh and yes I think books read aloud to children totally count 🙂

  3. For sure a date driving to the FedEx store counts! Thanks for sharing your great goals. I love your book reading goal. My is one a month…52 is awesome! I just read the greatest MOM book that I just wrote about on the blog,!

    • I set my goal at 52 the year that I made my children read a book a week so as to be a good example. I kept it up though because I enjoy reading so much and by setting a goal I make time to do it.

  4. Ohhh, I love the bike trip goal. We almost started biking this weekend, but alas the weather did not want to cooperate.
I am very impressed with your ebook word count, that’s going to be amazing. That is a LOT of words to put together 🙂

    • Thanks. Looks like we might be able to head out on our first bike ride later in the week as they are expecting warm temperatures for our area mid week.
