3 Things I am LOVING Lately: December 21

With just a few short days until Christmas I have moved on from shopping and wrapping to planning the Christmas Eve snack feast and the Christmas day mid-day meal.

First Thing I am LOVING Lately

I won  free books from Tyndale Rewards.

For the second year in a row I have my readers to thank for helping me win the top referrer contest through Tyndale Rewards in November. Thanks to those of you who signed up for Tyndale Rewards in the month of November I got to pick out $25 in free books!

I think the title I am most excited about is All Is Bright: A Devotional Journey to Color Your Way to Christmas. Since it arrived just last week I put it away to do next year starting December 1st. I love doing a different Christmas devotional every December.

In case you don’t know what Tyndale Rewards is, it is a rewards program where you earn points that you can cash in for 100% free hold in your hand books. It doesn’t take long to earn a book either, in fact I think many bookworms could earn a free book a month.

Second Thing I am LOVING Lately

A book that is like sweet honey to my creative mom side.

Sunday morning our family stayed home from church due to bad winter road conditions. I had gotten up early like usual though so I spent that time diving into the pages of Life Creative: Inspiration For Today’s Renaissance Mom.

It has been quite a while since I have read a book that so touched my heart. It is speaking to me in so many ways. If you are a creative mom trying to find time to create your art in the midst of motherhood, Life Creative will both encourage and grow you.

The picture above is just one of many areas of the book I have highlighted so far.

Third Thing I am LOVING Lately

I am beginning to make progress with my goals for the new year.

I am finding making goals for 2017  a bit challenging. You see I want to set realistic goals, but realistically I am going to be spending almost half the year on the road with my family. Realistically when we get back the summertime rush will be in full swing and before that is done my son’s senior soccer season begins.

Truly I have from mid October 2017 to the end of the year available to reach big goals. Until then I can make a tiny step towards a goal here and a tiny step there.

After much thought, I settled on the word “soak” for 2017–as in I want to soak it all up. I want to soak up the moments of our family road trip, soak up the summer fun, and soak up all the soccer games of my son’s final year in high school.

With “soak” in my mind I read the pages of Life Creative when it came to me that out of the soaking will come creating and from the creating will come sharing. So for 2017 I am embracing 3 words instead of one “Soak, Create, Share”.

I am not sure what this will look like exactly yet–but I am pretty sure it will change my focus here on the blog for a while, as I share our trip with you.

Psst… I would love to get to know you better. Hang out with me in either my Facebook group for people desiring to declutter their homes or on my Facebook group for those who love my thrifty posts & hot deals.
